Characteristics: The philosophical basis of Dr. An Wang Science/Math Magnet School, established 1993, is that math and science will be understood as real world activities. Efforts are made to dispel the image of cultural and sexual biases in the math and science fields as it assists all students to become thinkers and self-motivated problem solvers who can work cooperatively with one another to acquire the intellectual, social and moral attitudes as well as the skills and knowledge needed to prepare for a world that will always be changing - a world that will require the next generation of citizens to be literate in math and science in order to live in an age of technology.
