My name is Yingying Wu. I grew up in Guangdong, China before I moved to Boston with my family 11 years ago. I earned a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Teaching from Wheelock College and a Master's degree in Mathematics Teaching from Boston University as a Noyes scholar with a full scholarship. I did my student teaching in Boston Public Schools and now I am an 8th Grade Math teacher at Robinson Middle School. As an immigrant myself, I understand the tremendous challenge when I tried to learn math in a foreign language; and because of this challenging experience, I want to help more students, especially those whose first language is not English, to appreciate the beauty of math and really enjoy learning it. I also want to help them build confidence for themselves so that in their future endeavors, they feel empowered to tackle any challenge, academically or professionally.
