Joanne George

Reilly Site Manager recognized by Superintendent Skinner—November 2025
Joanne George exemplifies Responsibility through her steadfast commitment to student learning, family support, and program excellence at Reilly Elementary School. She oversees both the before- and after-school programs, ensuring that every child engages in purposeful, enriching experiences that nurture curiosity and confidence.
When the need for a before-school program arose, Joanne acted swiftly—launching it within weeks of the new school year to meet the needs of working families. Today, she serves 25 students each morning in a structured, engaging environment that includes LEGO challenges, science experiments, physical activity, and games promoting teamwork and problem-solving. Her afternoon program further extends learning through robotics and coding, STEAM, art, cooking, drama, sports, and board games. Each activity reflects her sense of ownership and dedication to ensuring that every student has the opportunity to thrive.
Her leadership has produced measurable results. Summer SAYO data show significant growth across multiple domains:
- Engagement: +7.9%
- Critical Thinking: +18.3%
- Relationships with Peers: +8.0%
- Communication: +5.4%
Equally powerful is the feedback from families who see the impact of her leadership every day:
“My daughter loves having the time with friends doing something besides typical school activities. It’s also introduced her to new friends and those in different grades which is great for building school community. We have loved having access to the after school program. Mrs. George has also done a phenomenal job of coordinating it all!”
“It has helped teach my child responsibility and commitment by showing up every time it is offered. It has also improved her independence and social skills which has been so nice as well. She looks forward to it every year!”
Through her responsible leadership and dedication, Joanne has created a program that supports the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally—while strengthening the Reilly School community as a whole.
