Building Diverse Educator Pipelines

  • Coordinated and co-led the Registered Teacher Apprenticeship Program (RTAP): Expanded an "earn-while-you-learn" pathway designed to build a diverse workforce that reflects the student population.
  • Removed Key Licensure Barriers: Identified primary testing barriers, such as the MTEL Foundations of Reading and Communications and Literacy tests and partnered with Middlesex Community College (MCC) to offer flexible, hybrid test-prep courses.
  • Secured Candidate Funding: Leveraged the DESE Teacher Diversification Grant to provide free study materials and MTEL testing vouchers, eliminating financial barriers for staff.
  • Individualized Candidate Support: Partnered with the Lowell Teacher Academy (LTA) and HR to conduct support sessions and mentorship for RTAP and LIFT-UP candidates, driving retention and growth.

Asset-Based Professional Learning

  • Facilitated Educator PLCs: Led district-wide CLSP Professional Learning Communities, equipping staff with asset-based strategies and supporting site-based implementation.
  • New Teacher/Paraprofessional Onboarding: Co-planned and facilitated New Teacher Academy sessions tailored to ground incoming teachers and paraprofessionals in CLSP frameworks from day one.
  • Embedded CLSP Across Disciplines: Integrated culturally and linguistically sustaining practices directly into professional development offerings and district outreach.
  • Supported School Quality Improvement Plans (QIPs): Partnered with school leaders to align and support actionable CLSP goals across the district.
  • Supported the usage of DESE Agnostic Tool to empower teachers across the district through training and peer visits.

Authentic Family & Community Partnerships

  • Expanded School-Based ELPACs: Collaborated with the Multilingual Learner (MLL) team and school leaders to establish school-based English Learner Parent Advisory Councils, providing direct training resources to center family leadership.
  • Strengthened Regional Alliances: Partnered with UMass Lowell, MCC, and Project Learn to create workforce development, higher education, and upward mobility pathways for families and staff.
  • Elevated Multilingual Family Voices: Co-developed a Health Survey alongside the Science Department to capture the lived experiences of multilingual families and inform district decision-making.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Data-Driven Needs Assessments: Executed baseline surveys to identify and remove operational barriers for teacher candidates, students, and families across licensure, health, and technology.
  • Ensured Equitable AI Access: Served on the "AI in Education" workgroup with PEAK and UML to ensure emerging educational technologies serve as accessible bridges for all student populations.
