What is FoodCorps?

FoodCorps is an Americorps service program centered on providing kids with nourishing meals, access to food education, and culturally affirming experiences with food that celebrate and nurture the whole child. FoodCorps Americorps service members focus on 3 areas of service: Hands-On Lessons, Nourishing School Meals, and a Schoolwide Culture of Health. In the Lowell Public School District, FoodCorps members focus on delivering hands-on lessons in cooking and tasting new foods; improving school meals; and encouraging a schoolwide culture of health through various forms of engagement to students at all 28 schools in the district. Read more below about service as a School Nutrition Service Member in our FoodCorps Newsletter!
