• Dear Parents/Guardians,

The Lowell School Committee voted to open thirty (30) seats in grade 9-12 at Lowell High School to School Choice participants for the 2017-2018 school year.  Per School Choice regulations, these seats are available to any Massachusetts student from outside of Lowell who applies within the designated time frame detailed below.

There are a number of factors that impact School Choice applications.  It is important to note that School Choice candidates are not eligible to apply for the Latin Lyceum for the 2017-2018 school year as the exam window has passed.  Additionally, transportation is not provided for School Choice students.  For a more complete explanation of School Choice parameters, please refer to the School Choice FAQs.

If you wish to apply for admission to the Lowell Public Schools through School Choice, please review the guidelines posted online, download and complete the application form and submit a signed copy to the Lowell High School, Office of Student Support Services, 50 Father Morissette Blvd. Lowell, MA  01852 to the attention of Patricia Noonan, Enrollment Clerk.  An application is required for each student applying and must be received either in person or via mail by the deadline of June 28, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in order to be considered in the lottery that is scheduled for June 30, 2017.  The lottery will be held at the Lowell Public Schools Family Resource Center, 151 Merrimack Street, at 3:00 p.m.  Parents will be notified by Friday, July 7, 2017 of their child’s status.

Please note that if all seats are filled by the deadline, applications received from that point forward will be placed at the end of the wait list in the order they are received.

Questions about School Choice and the application process can be answered by accessing the FAQs or by contacting Lowell High School’s Office of Student Support Services at 978-937-8926.
