  • Lowell Public Schools is looking for Lowell residents who aspire to become teachers.

    Have you thought about a career in teaching?  The Lowell Public Schools is looking to support Lowell residents interested in becoming a teacher and joining the Lowell school district community.

      

    What do I need in order to become a licensed teacher in Massachusetts?   
    The MA Department of Elementary and Secondary (DESE) requires an individual to have a Bachelor’s Degree or higher and passed all required MTEL tests.

     

    How is the Lowell Public Schools going to help me become a teacher?
    The Lowell Public Schools is offering a workshop to help those who are interested in a teaching career in Lowell prepare for the Communication and Literacy MTEL, which is one of the required MTEL tests. 

      

    Who is eligible for this Communication and Literacy MTEL workshop? 

    • Lowell resident
    • Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree or higher
    • Proficient in reading and writing in English
    • Basic computer skills
    • Passion for teaching

    Thursday, April 25th, Stoklosa Middle School, 2:30 to 4:00 p.m.
    Thursday, May 2nd, Butler Middle School, 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.
    Thursday, May 9th, Sullivan Middle School, 2:30 to 4:00 p.m.
    Wednesday, May 15th, McAuliffe Elementary School, 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.
    Thursday, May 16th, Wang Middle School, 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.
    Wednesday, May 22nd, Butler Middle School, 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
