Safety Office

The Safety Office coordinates all districtwide safety initiatives, provides support for crisis and emergency management, and conducts routine assessments of safety practices throughout the district.

Each school in the district maintains a crisis plan tailored to the specific needs of its students and facility while meeting all requirements set by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). These plans are regularly reviewed and updated as needed. A sample document includes emergency numbers, central office notification and support procedures, a Critical Incident Response Team, school emergency teams, medical and behavioral health emergency response plans, ALICE/option-based response procedures, evacuation protocols with designated rally points, and emergency evacuation procedures and locations, among other components.
