LPS School Leader Appointment - Butler Middle School

Jaime Moody Appointed Principal of Butler Middle School 

Superintendent of Schools Joel Boyd is proud to announce Jaime Moody has been named principal of the Butler Middle School, taking the reins from Teresa Soares-Pena, who has retired after leading the school for seven years.  

Moody brings 21 years of education experience, most of which has been in large urban school districts, working as a middle school teacher and winning awards for her dedication to her students and community, as well as for her ability to provide high quality instruction to all. She has served as the assistant principal of the Butler Middle School for the last three years, where she has been committed to fostering a climate that ensures equitable learning for all students.

In her time at the Butler, Moody has shown extraordinary leadership abilities and has made meaningful connections with families and students, strengthening the community, elevating student voices, and partnering with families to improve students’ educational outcomes.

Moody earned a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from Boston University, a master’s degree in Teaching from Northeastern University, and an Educational Leadership Certificate from Bridgewater State University.
