The B.R.I.D.G.E. Program’s Human Dignity Policy

  • The B.R.I.D.G.E. Program, recognizing that we are a multiracial, multiethnic, alternative school, believes it is our mission to provide a harmonious environment in which respect for the diverse makeup of the school community is promoted. A major aim of education at the B.R.I.D.G.E. Program is the development of a renewed commitment to the core values of a democratic society.

    In accordance with this aim, the B.R.I.D.G.E. Program, will not tolerate behavior or language by students or staff that insults, degrades, or stereotypes any individual or group based on race, class, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, disability, intellect, physical condition, body type, looks, ethnic group or religion.

    The B.R.I.D.G.E. Program believes that as human beings, we carry the responsibility of caring for other human beings, animals, and the environment, which is a home to us all.

    Appropriate consequences for offending this policy will be specified in the program manual. Staff members offending this policy will be disciplined in accordance with provisions of The B.R.I.D.G.E. Program Manual.
