NO Bullying – It’s the Law: Feeling safe in school is very important. Teachers will be talking about bullying, what it is and what it is not. We will handle situations with younger students as is appropriate for their age. Consequences will be more serious as students get older. Bullying is:
Repeatedly harming another person or their belongings
- physically (pushing, fighting)
- out loud (calling names, teasing, insulting)
- in writing, or through the computer (cyberbullying)
Everyone has a right to feel safe in school in order to learn. The victim could be hurt both physically (injured) and emotionally (feelings). Incidents will be investigated, parents will be informed, and consequences given. Retaliation will result in severe consequences. False reports will also be handled severely.
