My name is Greg Passeri and I am very happy to be the principal of the John J. Shaughnessy School. Previously, I was the assistant principal at the Dr. An Wang Middle School for six years. Before coming to Lowell, I taught social studies and directed an after-school program through the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Salem. What I ask of each child is to embody our school’s motto and, “Be a SHARK Today,” and am very happy to work with such a dedicated staff at the Shaughnessy. My wife and I are the proud parents of a three year old son and also have dog named Annie--they both provide us with much entertainment.
Hello! I’m Mrs. Espinola, the School Social Worker at the Shaughnessy Elementary School. I have had the privilege of working with students and their families of Lowell Public Schools since 2012. I always tell my students that I have the best job in the whole school because not only do I get to work directly with students, I also get to work closely with our teachers, parents, and the community. To sum up my job, I get to help solve problems and celebrate the victories of our students at the Shaughnessy. Who wouldn’t love that?!
When I’m not in school, I love to spend time with my family. I love to cook for them, watch them play sports, go to the beach, eat nachos and ice cream – lots of ice cream – and sometimes even go on short vacations. I never like to go away for too long because I’d miss my bud, Seamus, who is our family dog, my goats, and all my chickens.
My favorite quote from Dr. Seuss is, “ You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.”
My name is Susan Rabias. I am the Literacy Specialist at the Shaughnessy School. I grew up in Lowell and attended the Lowell Public Schools. When I decided to teach, I was lucky to get a job in Lowell. During my time working in the Lowell Public Schools, I have had many roles including teaching grades four and six. I have two boys and two dogs. I love to READ and enjoy spending time with my friends and family.
My name is Sarah Brown, and this will be my fourteenth year teaching in Lowell. I started as a third grade teacher and now I am a math resource teacher. When I am not working, I enjoy hiking with my family, the beach, reading, and searching for the best ice cream stand. I have three children, ages 8, 6, and 2.
