• NATIONAL JUNIOR HONORS SOCIETY

The National Junior Honor Society is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle level students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1929.

The Wannalancit Chapter has been active since January 1976 and membership totals over 1500 members. The National Junior Honor Society ranks as one of the oldest and most prestigious national organizations for middle school students. To be selected into the National Junior Honor Society, member must meet this criteria: a cumulative grade point average of 85 or above, all A’s and B’s in conduct and effort, and high ratings in such areas as honesty, dependability, positive behavior, and character. As role models, the National Junior Honor society gives back to our school community and beyond, through leadership and service.
