• OVERVIEW of COMMUNITY SCHOOLS

     

    A community school is an ecosystem of connections that raise student achievement by ensuring that children are physically, emotionally, and socially supported to learn. The school is a neighborhood hub that provides access to support the whole child, engage families, and strengthen communities. 

    The Stoklosa Community Schools Program is Managed By 21 Year Veteran Teacher Matthew Gillis. He received his Bachelor's from Springfield College ('00) and his M.Ed from Salem State ('08), He Served 19 years in the Malden Public School System, where he Coached 3 Sports for MHS, Started the S.A.D.D. program, the Student Elective Program, was a teacher mentor, Union Rep, E-Board Member, MTA PR/ Organizing Board member, and Organized the MEA 5K that raised over $10,000 for the "Bread of Life". He is also a 20 year resident of Lowell, where he is a Coach and Commissioner of Pawtucketville Youth Baseball for over a decade as well as coaching Highlands and Centralville Basketball.
