ESOL Overview

  • English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Classes

    Our ESOL classes are designed for adult learners whose native language is not English.

    ✅ Eligibility Requirements

    • 👩👨 Age: Students must be at least 18 years old.
    • 📍 Residency: Must live in the Greater Lowell area.
    • 🆔 Required Documents: Photo ID and proof of address are needed before starting classes.

    📖 Program Information

    • 📚 Instruction Language: All classes are taught in English.
    • ✏️ Skills Taught: Reading, writing, and speaking.
    • 📊 Class Levels: Beginner, Low, Intermediate, and Advanced (based on placement test results).
      If your preferred class isn’t available at your level, we’ll help you choose an alternative.
    • 🗓️ Class Schedule: Check the registration form for the latest schedule (subject to change).

     


    🏠 In-Person Classes

    🌞 Morning Classes (AAEC - 408 Merrimack Street)

    • Beginner (No English skills):
      🕘 Monday–Thursday, 9:00–11:30 AM
    • Low–High Intermediate:
      🕘 Monday–Wednesday, 9:00 AM–12:00 PM

    🌞 Morning Classes (CMAA - 465 School Street)

    • Beginner:
      🕘 Tuesday–Thursday, 9:00–10:45 AM
    • Intermediate:
      🕘 Tuesday–Thursday, 11:00 AM–12:45 PM

    🌙 Evening Classes (Lowell High School - 50 Father Morissette Boulevard)

    • All Levels: Beginner (No English skills) - Advanced
      🕡 Monday and Wednesday, 6:30–9:00 PM

    🌙 Evening Classes (CMAA - 465 School Street)

    • Low Level:
      🕔 Tuesday & Wednesday, 5:00–8:00 PM
    • Beginner:
      🕔 Thursday & Friday, 5:00–8:00 PM

    💻 Remote Classes

    🌞 Morning Classes

    • All Levels:
      🕘 Thursday & Friday, 9:00–11:00 AM
    • Intermediate Only:
      🕘 Tuesday–Thursday, 9:00–11:00 AM

    🌙 Evening Classes

    • All Levels: Beginner (No English skills) - Advanced
      🕡 Tuesday & Thursday, 6:00–8:30 PM
