  • McAvinnue's International Night

    Rescheduled - Thursday, May 29th

    International Night Flyer 2025

As you know, we needed to reschedule McAvinnue’s Annual International Night due to the Nor'easter Storm on Thursday evening. The new date is Thursday, May 29th at 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM. Even poor weather won't prevent us for hosting this very special evening dedicated to celebrating the amazing cultures and traditions that make up our school community! We hope to see everyone there!

As part of the festivities, we are asking families to bring a favorite family dish that reflects their heritage, culture, or family traditions.

Here are a few important details:

    • What to Bring: A dish that is meaningful to your family and represents your cultural background. It could be an appetizer, main dish, dessert, or snack — whatever you love to share!

    • Serving Size: Please prepare a dish that can serve about 20–25 small portions, so many families have the chance to sample different foods.

    • Labeling: If possible, please include a small label with the name of the dish, the country or culture it represents, and any important ingredients (to help those with allergies).

    • Allergies: We kindly ask that you list common allergens (such as nuts, dairy, eggs, gluten, etc.) if they are included.

    • Drop-off Time: Please bring your dish to the gymnasium at 5:00 PM - 5:30 PM. Tables will be set up for you to display your dish.

    • Optional: Feel free to bring a small flag, photo, or short description that tells a little about your dish or your family's story!

This evening is always one of the highlights of our school year — a time to connect, share traditions, and learn from one another. We can't wait to experience the delicious tastes and rich stories that each of you will bring to this beautiful night!

If you are planning to bring a dish, please RSVP by reaching out to Mrs. De La Luz at adelaluz@lowell.k12.ma.us or send back the bottom portion of the flyer that was sent home before Spring Break so we can plan accordingly.

Thank you for helping us make our International Night a meaningful and memorable event!

  • McAvinnue's Summer Program Registration Is Now Open!

    Summer Program 2025

We are excited to offer McAvinnue's Summer Program, a fun and enriching learning experience that will run from Monday, July 7th through Friday, August 1st, daily from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM. This four-week program is specially designed for current McAvinnue students in Kindergarten through Grade 4 and aims to support continued learning, creativity, and social development throughout the summer.

The Summer Program will be staffed entirely by McAvinnue faculty, ensuring that students are supported by familiar, trusted educators who understand their needs and learning styles. Each day will include a blend of academic enrichment in literacy and math, hands-on science and art activities, structured outdoor play, and social-emotional learning opportunities—all in a fun, engaging environment.

Please note that transportation will not be provided. Families must arrange their own drop-off and pick-up. A light breakfast will be served daily upon arrival to help students start their day ready to learn. A bag lunch will be provided each day of the program.

Only 45 spots are available, and enrollment will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis. To sign up, families must complete the Google Form provided by the school. The link can be found below.

This program is a fantastic opportunity for students to stay connected with school, maintain academic progress, and enjoy a summer filled with learning, exploration, and fun. We look forward to spending the summer with your child!

If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Gervais, Summer Program Coordinator, at mgervais@lowell.k12.ma.us if you have any questions. #McAvinnuePride
