MLL Math Teacher - 7th Grade Liaison

I have been teaching since 2004. I love traveling and spending time with family (hiking, camping, and parties). I am originally from Puerto Rico and am bilingual. At Butler, we have an MLL program, and we are excited to welcome our students, specifically to help them develop the academic language and social skills needed to succeed in all content areas. Our school is diverse, and we are committed to making everyone feel safe and welcome.

MLL Social Studies Teacher - 5th Grade Liaison

I was born in Texas, and I am a tribal citizen of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, so I spent much of my childhood in the “Texoma” area. I earned a BA in English from Midwestern State University and an M.Ed. from Texas Woman’s University. This is my 15th year in education.

Outside the classroom, I enjoy sewing, knitting, and cooking Indigenous foods connected to my family’s roots in Mexico and the southeastern United States. I also love reading and writing, which makes teaching literacy especially meaningful for me. I’m excited to join The Butler community and look forward to a great school year.

MLL English Teacher - 8th Grade Liaison

This is my 5th year at Lowell Public Schools. I earned my Master’s degree in TESOL from Salem State University and have been teaching ESL for over 10 years. I first began working with adults, then moved into elementary, and I am now in my second-year teaching middle school. I have a strong passion for supporting both students and their families as they navigate their learning journeys. I have three children, and two years ago we took a 24-hour road trip all the way from Boston to Nebraska!
