I am excited to be going into my third year at the Butler School this fall. For the past three years, I’ve had the privilege of co-teaching alongside the 6th grade ELA team as a Special Educator. I look forward to continuing to witness the personal and academic growth of students from years past, as well as connecting with upcoming 6th graders. It’s been my pleasure to connect with families and students as they develop their literacy skills, and I look forward to another year of growth and fun!

I am so excited to be starting my third year at the Butler. Although I was born here in Lowell, I have only lived here a few years. I love being able to teach in the community in which I live. I am passionate about each student reaching their potential. We all have something to learn and to share with one another.

After more than twenty years of working with teens and young adults at a teen center, before- and after-school programs in the Lowell Public Schools, and as a paraprofessional, I decided to become a teacher. I noticed I had to work extra hard in class because I did not learn like every other student. As I got older, I learned about different learning styles and wanted to bring that knowledge to any classroom or lesson I was a part of or taught.

Just because you learn differently does not mean you are any less than anyone else. As the 5/6 Adjustment teacher, I am committed to empowering students to reach their academic aspirations and assuring them that they can succeed in anything they set their mind.

I am a passionate and dedicated Paraprofessional with 36 years' experience. I joined the Butler family in 2000, where I have spent most of my time in sub-separate classrooms supporting students with educational, behavioral, and emotional needs.  I love spending time listening to music, traveling, and hanging out with my family, most especially my 7-year-old grandson, Noah.
