7/8 Science Teacher

This is my second year at the Wang and 20+ in Lowell. I love living and working in Lowell. Instead of being a "melting pot", I love that the city of Lowell and its schools are a colorful kaleidoscope of different people.

I've been with the Wang for 7 years, teaching for 10 years in this district. I've bounced around from grades 5-8 in Lowell and have loved every grade I've taught. I especially love that I've been able to know quite a few of the kids as they've grown through their middle school years. I grew up in Lowell and still live here with my husband, daughter and my 4-legged son, Ranger. 

My name is Mrs. MacKenzie. I have worked for Lowell Public Schools since 1994. For the past 18 years, I have taught seventh and eighth grade math at the Wang School. I also teach at Middlesex Community College in the evenings. I love math – I am a math geek! I believe that all children can learn math using a variety of tools and strategies. I am dedicated to teaching your children the math and problem-solving skills that they will need in order to achieve academic success.
