I have been an educator in Lowell for over twenty years, including as a classroom teacher, an Allied Arts teacher, a math coach, a STEM specialist, an assistant principal, and now a principal.

Teaching and learning is my passion—I know that people can learn if they try their best and learn from wonderful teachers.  I am also fascinated by research on how the brain works and how to use that information to be a better teacher.  The most important thing that I have learned is that the brain is always changing and can grow and make new connections.  When I was a kid, everyone thought that people were born smart, but science has shown that brains aren’t born smart but become smart with lots of effort, interactions, and experiences.  That’s why I love working at the Morey—a school where we have knowledgeable and hardworking teachers designing and implementing interesting and meaningful curriculum so that students can learn and grow.  Everyone gets smart at the Morey!

I also work hard to grow my own brain.  That is the best part about working with students—whether it is one of our kindergarteners or one of my graduate students—I am always learning and gathering more information to create new ideas and solutions.

My family and I live in Lowell, the city of my birth.  We live in the Highlands, just like many of our students.  My husband, Nate, and I have two children who are students in the Lowell Public Schools.  We all love the newest member of the family—our rescue dog, Emily.  She makes life much more enjoyable and is definitely the cutest one in the family.

Thank you for your continued support of our school!
