Mrs. McCoy

Hello, my name is Susan McCoy. I am excited to begin my twenty first year teaching in the Lowell Public School system. I have spent 18 of those years as part of an amazing team at the Washington School. I have been teaching second grade for the past eleven years. Before coming to the Washington School, I taught kindergarten and first grade at the Pawtucketville Memorial School.

I grew up in Lowell, Massachusetts, but currently live in Pelham, New Hampshire with my husband and three children. My son Danny (age 17) is a senior at Bishop Guertin High School in Nashua. Julia (age 15) is a sophomore at Tyngsboro High School. David (age 10) is a fifth grader at Pelham Elementary School. My children play sports all year long so we have a very busy schedule, but always make time to have a nice dinner together each night to catch up.

I love teaching! I am always looking for new ways to challenge and have fun with my students. I am looking forward to working with your children this school year. We are going to have a wonderful year learning and growing together.

Mrs. McCoy teaches in Room 102.

I have been a Paraprofessional at the Washington School since 1995. I have worked in most grade levels except for Pre-K. As a Paraprofessional, my job is to take intervention groups for both reading and math and to help support classroom teachers in first and second grades. When I’m not taking groups I work one on one or with small groups assisting in the classroom.
