This afterschool club uses a students ability to think creatively with Legos and takes what they have learned from the Hour of Code program to make their creation move. This program came to be through a grant from UMass Lowell which allowed us to purchase Lego We-Do kits. This is a one-hour after school program that takes place over 8 weeks. During the first two weeks, students learn how to follow directions building the program so they can see how they work. On week three, students create their own designs and code it themselves.
This program is open to 4th grade students every year. Students are selected for this program by how well they understand writing computer codes. If you want to be invited please remember to work on coding using the hour of code website that you can access through the Washington school home page. Have fun coding!
