Refuge Lowell is a safe place for visual self expression. We encourage the development of the whole person through intensive art instruction and mentorship. Refuge is designed to help students who are serious about art and those who seek assistance developing portfolios for College admission.

8 scholarships for painting and 8 scholarships for sculpture (using ceramics) are being awarded to students ranging from 6^th grade to 12^th grade. The 8-week program will not only teach painting and sculpture fundamentals but will challenge the participants intellectually to depict their interests and ideas through these mediums. All art materials and instructions are included in the scholarship. Students applying for the scholarship can email one to three images of prior artwork along with a written explanation of the work submitted and why they want to be part of the program. The work submitted can be (painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, digital art, or collage).
