Mr. Banks

Assistant Principal - Grades 7/8

My name is Michael Banks, and I am one of the assistant principals at the Sullivan Middle School. I have been working in the Lowell Public Schools since 1995. I was an English Language Arts teacher at the Butler Middle School for 17 years before moving into administration. Prior to my work at the Sullivan, I worked as a student support specialist at the Lowell High School Freshman Academy.

Personally, I am married with two children. I enjoy playing many sports with my kids and watching them participate in their various activities. We also love watching and following the Bruins, Celtics, Red Sox, and Patriots!

At the Sullivan, I want the best for all of our students. I strive to ensure every child receives a quality education that will prepare them for high school and beyond. Please do not hesitate to contact me at any time with any questions or concerns.

Ms. Stappen

My name is Ms. Kelsey Stappen and I am new to the Guidance Counselor role here at Sullivan Middle School starting this year. I am very excited to join the team and to begin working with students! I believe in an open-door policy and hope that students feel they can stop by to speak with me in my office whenever they need.

When I'm not at the Sullivan I enjoy traveling, reading, and taking my dog, Harley, on hikes.

Hello Everyone! I’m so lucky to be a Social Worker here at the Sullivan. I will be working with grades 5 & 6, and I’m so excited to join this wonderful community. I’m from Haverhill, MA, and have worked in education for the past 5 years. I’ll be here to support and teach students skills that will help them as they face academic, social, behavioral, or emotional challenges. I can’t wait to work with my new students, families, and colleagues!

When I’m not here at school, I enjoy spending time with my family, coaching soccer and volleyball, taking care of my foster dogs, and traveling!
