    Hello Sullivan Community,

I hope you had a nice weekend and will have a super Super Bowl.

THIS PAST WEEK at the Sullivan our boys and girls basketball kept up the fight. The girls lost a toughie on Tuesday to Daley and won big verses the Stoklosa on Thursday. The boys lost both games but kept up the effort this rebuilding year. I admire the tenacity and never say die attitude. We also had a very successful Student Council led Grade 7 & 8 Dance on Friday night. Thanks to the Student Council, Ms. Mitrano, Ms. Graziani, Ms. Dasilva, Mr. Banks, Ms. McGrath, Ms. Renaud, Mr. Valliere, Ms. McDonald, Ms. O’Donahue, Ms. Hoffman, the PTO and parent volunteers, and our wonderful custodial crew for making it happen. It takes a Village….

Some quick notes for THIS UPCOMING WEEK:

    • Monday, February 3rd RESPECT & RESPONSIBILITY GRADE LEVEL ASSEMBLIES
    • Tuesday, February 4th is our BOYS AND GIRLS BASKETBALL GAMES verses the Butler at the Sullivan from 4-6:00 PM. This is the last game and the girls may be able to make the playoff if they win! Go Sullivan!
    • Tuesday, February 4th 6:00 PM at LHS Little Theater. This is from the high school principal Maryanne Busteed. (See flier on Sullivan Facebook.)  We are excited to share this invitation regarding the LHS BUILDING PROJECT COMMUNITY MEETING.  We know that parents who have children coming to the high school in the next few years have many questions and concerns.  This information session will detail the project design, schedule, and benefits along with other key information. Most importantly the Project Team will share the impact for each graduating class through the duration of the project.  Attendees will also have an opportunity to ask questions.
    • Thursday, February 6th. SECOND QUARTER REPORT CARDS GO HOME.
    • Thursday, February 6th. 2:30-3:30 PM, Library. SCHOOL COUNCIL MEETING
    • From the PTO: This week and next Pura Vida bracelets in our school colors, Purple and Teal, will be sold for $5 each during lunches this Wednesday and Friday.  Profits go to PTO to pay for student activities and technology upgrades."

    Hello Sullivan Community,

I hope you had a nice long weekend. Happy MLK day.

THIS PAST WEEK at the Sullivan our boys and girls basketball performed admirably. The girls won both games with the STEM and Bartlett with very strong efforts. The boys worked hard as well but lost both games coming up short in a heartbreaker against the Bartlett. Keep up the good work!

Some quick notes for THIS UPCOMING WEEK:

    • Tuesday, January 21st is our Boys and Girls Basketball games verses the Robinson at the Robinson from 4-6:00 PM.
    • Thursday, January 23rd is our Boys and Girls Basketball games verses the Pyne Arts at the Sullivan from 4-6:00 PM.
    • From Nurse McGrath: Because we are an Allergy Aware school, and in accordance with the Lowell School Department's Life Threatening Allergy policy, no food should be brought into school to be shared, including - but not limited to -  candy, cakes, cupcakes and the like.  An extensive list of all the foods our student are allergic to was sent home in October. Accidental consumption of, or exposure to, even a small amount of any of these foods can have severe, life threatening consequences.  Please help us keep all of our students safe and healthy. Please contact me with any questions

    Hello Sullivan Community,

I hope you had a nice weekend. I know we have some more time now with the Pats out:( Some quick notes for THIS UPCOMING WEEK:

    • Tuesday, January 14th is our Boys and Girls Basketball games verses the STEM at the Sullivan from 4-6:00 PM.
    • Wednesday January 15th from 5-6 PM in the library is the Grade 8 Washington D.C. Trip parent meeting. This is an informational meeting scheduled for all grade 8 students and their parents who have signed up to attend the Washington D. C. trip.  There will be a brief presentation about the trip followed by a question and answer session. Please make every effort to attend and bring all your questions if you intend to go on the trip.
    • Wednesday, January 15th from 6-7 in the library is our monthly PTO meeting. All Sullivan parents are welcome to attend.
    • Thursday, January 16th is our Boys and Girls Basketball games at the Bartlett from 4-6:00 PM.
    • Monday, January 20th, NO SCHOOL: MLK Holiday

    A couple of important notes:

    • From Ms. Dasilva and the After School Program: Afterschool program letters went home on Friday. Program starts tomorrow (Monday 1/13).  Students who were in session one (1) can start on Monday. New students must wait to start because bus list have been delayed. As soon as we get approval I will inform students. We have some space open on a few programs and am adding a Drumline activity for Monday’s. Students interested in learning to play drums in should see Ms. Dasilva.
    • Technology/Social Media: Please remember that student cell phones/ear buds/etc. need to be turned off and put away (in a locker or classroom lock box) in school. No exceptions. These items during the school day can interfere with the educational process. There will be teacher and administrative consequences for those students who do not comply. We appreciate parent support on these matters. In addition, a reminder, student-to-student conflicts played out in social media ARE SCHOOL ISSUESif it disrupts the educational process. A good number of students lately have been disciplined for name calling and threats that began as posts, snap chats, instant messages, texts, etc., etc. Parents are asked to know what your child is doing on social media and ensure they are being appropriate. School (and at times law enforcement) consequences will apply. Parents are asked to speak with their children on both of these items. We will be having student grade level assemblies on social media in the coming weeks.
    • The Boys and Girls Middle School Basketball Season gets underway this week. Go Sullivan! Please review the following Basketball Games Protocol for student spectators:
      • For Home Games: All school rules apply. All Sullivan School students will need a note from a parent or guardian to attend home games. The note should grant permission for the student to attend the game and also state how the student will be getting home (walking or pick-up). The note should also contain a contact phone number. Notes will be collected at the door. Students from other schools must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to attend the game.
      • For Away Games: All school rules apply. All Sullivan School students who wish to attend an away game MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian who will stay with the student for the entire game. Students cannot attend away games unless they are accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Please note: The boys' games start at 4:00PM and the girls' games start at 5:15PM. Please be at the school by 5:45 for pick-up if your child is attending both games. Thank you.
