With the unexpected closing on schools across the state and country, many digital providers have made their online content accessible for students and families for free to ensure that learning will continue at home.
To help you, I will share various resources over the course of the closing. Many of these are used every day at school in different classrooms and should be familiar to students. These are not intended to be a replacement for instruction, nor are they a requirement for students to use. The school closings do provide an opportunity to apply our creativity and critical thinking skills in new ways. These can include family projects, learning to prepare traditional meals and complete household chores, and more time playing outside at home as the weather becomes more and more springlike.
I will continue to post messages, activities, and updates on Facebook and Twitter throughout the closing. Please continue to practice frequent hand washing and social distancing to keep your family safe. And, as always, take care of yourself and each other!
During this time away from school, we know many families are looking for ways to continue learning at home. These enrichment opportunities are intended to support your child's learning at each grade level and across subjects, but are optional.
