Moving to College will provide up to 20 housing scholarships for students experiencing homelessness. The scholarships, made possible through HUD’s federal Moving to Work program, will provide year-round, on-campus housing as well as meal plans funded by campuses. Students will also receive case management and other services as they transition to college.
Applicants must be accepted to one of the eight community colleges or state universities participating in the program. Those registered at a community college would live at the nearest participating state university campus and commute to classes and/or take classes online. The institutions participating in the Moving to College program for the 2021-22 academic year are: Fitchburg State University, Mount Wachusett Community College, Framingham State University, MassBay Community College, Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, Berkshire Community College, Salem State University, and North Shore Community College.
