About the Office of the Superintendent

  • The School Committee employs a Superintendent to lead and manage the school district. The Superintendent is an ex officio, nonvoting member of the School Committee and the chief executive officer of the school system.

    The Superintendent serves as the School Committee’s professional advisor. Key roles include instructional leadership, financial management, personnel administration, operational oversight, policy implementation, and strategic planning to ensure the district's educational goals are met in compliance with laws and regulations.

    Liam Skinner is the current Superintendent of the Lowell Public Schools.
