About Our Department
-
The Office of Student Support Services coordinates education, prevention and intervention programs and services to address the academic, behavioral, social/emotional, health, safety, and alternative education needs of students. The Office of Student Support Services works collaboratively with students, parents, staff and community partners to provide supports that increase student access to instruction and reduce barriers to success in school. Student support staff influence school policy and work to create systematic change to advance the well-being, academic success and lifelong achievement of students. Our role includes serving as advocates, consultants and liaisons between school, home and the community from initial school registration to graduation to adult education.
On May 7, 2025, the Lowell School Committee voted to withdraw from participating in the Inter-District School Choice program for the 2025-2026 school year.
