Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Requirement

There are several routes to obtaining the SEI endorsement.  If you are not currently enrolled in a RETELL course, the quickest route at this point in time is to take and pass the SEI MTEL exam.  Several schools have formed study groups and they are in the process of preparing to take the exam on February or April vacations.  If you'd like to participate in a study group, please contact Daroth Yann, Assistant Director of Human Resources, Educator Evaluation & Licensure at 978-674-2046.

The exam is a self-scheduled computer based assessment; a passing score on the SEI MTEL exam will ensure you earn an SEI endorsement on your teaching license. All information regarding the new SEI endorsement can be found on the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education RETELL website
