Parent Child Home Program
-
The Parent-Child Plus Program aims to help every child enter school ready to learn by providing parents with resources to support learning at home.
Parent Child-Plus Program provides early literacy, parenting and school readiness to parents and children in their homes. The project has been shown to be effective in closing the achievement gap. Families interested in being contacted can CLICK HERE to be contacted or to apply complete the following application Parent Child Plus Application and mailed to Laura Valdez at 21 Carter Street in Lowell
The program is designed to provide two weekly 30 minute visits to children between the ages of 18 months and 4 years. Each week a home visitor provides the family with a high quality book or educational toy that is a gift to the family. The visitor uses the book or toy to model reading, conversations, and play activities designed to support families in stimulating parent-child interactions that promote language, literacy, and school readiness.
