The Lowell Special Education Parent Advisory Council
(Sped PAC) is an organization run by parents of children receiving special education services through the Lowell School Department. It was created to share information about special education and promote understanding between parents and the school department.
Goals & Objectives
The Lowell Special Education Parent Advisory Council was organized when the regulations implementing Chapter 766 mandated that each school system operating a special education program establish a parent advisory council.
The Lowell Special Education Parent Advisory Council is organized and run by parents of children receiving special education services through the Lowell School Department.
As a Parent Advisory Council, we promote understanding between parents, teachers and the Special Education Department. We facilitate communication within the community regarding special education, provide information on available programs, offer information to parents and provide workshops and support.
The Parent Advisory Council serves as a resource to other citizens of Lowell who are concerned about special education and special needs issues.
A broad spectrum of issues face children in special education and their families. The Lowell Special Education Parent Advisory Council has committed itself to addressing and representing the multiple interests and concerns of ALL children receiving special education services.
Any parent of a special needs child or any interested person may become a member.
Due to Covid-19, meetings will be held online until further notice. Meeting dates are listed below and will be on Zoom. In order to watch and participate, a meeting invitation is needed to each meeting. Meeting invitations and info will be shared via email and the Sped PAC’s Facebook page. For information on meetings or how to be notified, please contact the Sped PAC.

Please Note: The meetings will be held on Zoom until further notice. Interested persons may contact the Sped PAC for info on how to listen or participate in the meeting. Meeting times are subject to change due to pandemic-related factors. All changes will be broadcast via email and the Facebook page.
